About Us
There has NEVER been a shelter established in this area. (4 counties) we need help funding, grant writing, anything that can help us attain land and a building to renovate or build in the Fergus county area. Animals are being neglected, dumped, shot and starving on a daily basis in this huge rural area. we need anyone that can help in any way to step up and help in any way they can!
In our research, we have found that in addition to JUST a SHELTER...we will look at the acoustics, thus reducing the stress in the animals. A "real life room" where volunteers can sit with animals and teach them house manners thus making the animal more adoptable. There is a successful "read to a shelter pet" program that would be beneficial, along with senior programs, programs for teens at risk, and basic obedience training for all shelter pets and a youth program teaching the basic tools. The shelter will be cleaned with steam machines as compared to a hose and chemicals.
WE do not have a shelter established yet, so dedicated volunteers continue to write grants, hold fundraisers and work year round to raise money to make our vision a reality.
For now, if you are in the four-county area (Fergus, Petroleum, Judith Basin and Wheatland) and have unwanted or abandoned dogs or cats that need veterinary care, we can help but only if you or someone you know will keep the animal. If you have an unwanted pet that has been vaccinated and is spay/neutered, we will try to find a new home for the animal featuring it on face book and sending out emails, we cannot house the animal at anytime.
We are a nonprofit organization run by volunteers and depend on donations and grants to establish and maintain a future shelter. All contributions are fully tax-deductible under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.

Plans for the Future
We are in the process of building a new shelter!
Why Does Central Montana Need an Animal Shelter?
- Fergus County, along with Petroleum, Judith Basin and Wheatland counties have no policy in place, or a facility to care for unwanted, abandoned or stray pets.
- Pet owners need the option of surrendering a pet they can no longer care for to a shelter rather than euthanasia or abandonment.
We will soon offer memberships and opportunities to sponsor a dog kennel or cat condo. If you’d like to sponsor other parts of the future shelter, such as grooming room, quarantine, iso chamber, real-life room, and items for the therapy room, please let us know.
When the shelter becomes a reality, we can open our doors to the community and, most importantly, to the unwanted, abused, displaced pets that need and deserve a home.
